Peaks Timeline 2012 Just wanted to share the Caberfae Race timeline.  Have Fun & Ski Fast!

Racers and Parents,

We are racing at Caberfae this Sunday, Feb. 26th. I have sent in a roster for those that have told me they were coming. Don’t forget we will have a “Waxing Party/Pot Luck”, Saturday at 6:00pm in the Lodge at Caberfae. On an earlier email we sent out an alphabetical list for food assignments. Don’t forget to bring your skis into the waxing area when you get done skiing so they can warm up before waxing. Ask at the front desk if you are not sure where to go.

As soon as I have a timeline for Sunday’s event, I will forward it to you via email. Plan on 8-9am registration.

Looks like we should be getting some fresh snow over the next couple of days, so conditions should be great.

Stay tuned for details on the final week of racing. We are hoping to have the annual “Racers vs. Parents” next weekend, and will plan to practice Tuesday. As soon as we have more details I will forward them to you.

Thank you to everyone for making the SV Invitational a great day of racing.  We had 142 racers and the weather was perfect.  Parents, Racers, Coaches….Thank you !!!  Here are the details for Saturdays race at Mt. Brighton……. Mt. Brighton Race Details Have fun and to borrow their tag line…”THINK SNOW ! VERY FAST SNOW!!”

We will host the JDT Invitational this Sunday, expecting teams from Cannonsburg, Timber Ridge, Bittersweet, Mt. Brighton, and Alpine Valley. Could be close to 200 racers. The timeline has been sent to you via email, and is posted on the previous blog. Please look it over and let me know if you have any questions.

Later this week I will have a finalized volunteer list for both hills with detailed intstructions for anyone on the list. Thank You to those of you that were at the meeting last night. For those of you that missed it, please stay tuned for you instructions, (via e-mail).

We still have a great base at Swiss Valley, thanks to the efforts of the staff making the snow and the grooming of the slopes. It is a huge challenge for them with such adverse conditions, but they are doing a great job. Be sure to ackknowledge them if you see the around the lodge!

If all goes well we will be off the hill on sunday by 1:00pm, (not breaking for lunch between runs), so please stay on the hill until you have made your 4 runs. We will then present the awards around 3:00pm. (Listen for an announcement to confirm.) We are aware that it is Super Bowl Sunday and many of you have plans for that evening. If it gets late and you have to leave, we will collect any awards for our racers and pass them out later.
Next week we will practice on Tuesday and the Race will be Saturday at Mt. Brighton. Please book your rooms if you are planning on staying.

Hello to all…as I type this you are racing at Timber Ridge.  I hope everyone is having fun and skiing fast!  Here are the details for next weeks race Swiss Valley JDT 2012 Invitational. We will need all the help we can get, this is always a great day at our area.  Mark will post the details of practice and the parent volunteer meeting soon. Think snow, fast snow ! – Jamie

Racers and Parents,

We will practice this Tuesday, and our race is at Timber Ridge on Sunday. I will send a timeline as soon as I get it for the Sunday race. Please let me know if you are coming as we have to submit our roster Tuesday afternoon.

Next Tuesday, Jan. 31st, at 6:45pm., we will have a parent meeting in the Chalet while the kids are practicing. This meeting is to discuss our race for Feb. 5th, and get parent volunteers for that day. I can also answer any questions that any of you may have about that day or any other general questions.

I have also forwarded information for Lodging for the Mt. Brighton, Cannonsburg, and Caberfae weekends. A special thank you to Mrs. Miller for taking the time to do this!

Bittersweet Junior Race Invitational ­ 2012

Racers and Parents,

We will practice Thursday night from 6:30-8:00pm. Coach John and Coach Mark G. will be coaching the younger group, Coach Brynn and Coach Stan will be coaching the older group. There will not be a parent lesson Thursday as John will be coaching the racers.

The race at Bittersweet is Sunday. Please let me know if you are coming so I can turn in a roster Thursday. You should plan on arriving to Bittersweet at 8:30am to be on the hill by 9:00am for course inspection. There is a schedule in the mass email that I sent out, if you didnt get an email, please contact me at resortmark@gmail.com and I will add you to the group list and forward the schedule to you.

We will practice Tuesday next week and race at Timber Ridge Sunday, Jan 29th.

Racers and Parents,

Swiss Valley closed for the day due to the rain. They will reopen on Wednesday, as the temps are going to fall and we might see some snow. We are rescheduling practice for Thursday at the normal time from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Sunday is the Bittersweet Race, which will be early in the morning. I will send the details of the race as I get them. I will need to send a roster in by Thursday, so please let me know if you are planning to attend. resortmark@gmail.com

Mt. Brighton race is Feb. 11th, so mark your calendars. Details for that race will be forwarded as I get them. Mt. Brighton is near Flint, and many of the families will stay the night before due to the longer drive. We will also forward lodging information so don’t book rooms yet.

Racers and Parents,

The Annual Snow Meister Race is Sunday 1-15-12 at 1:00pm. This race is held on Quad 80 which is our most challenging race hill and it may be to much for some of the first year racers. We also welcome the parents to sigh up as this race is open to the public. Registration will start at 9:00am in the cafeteria. Coaches will be on the hill to inspect the course with the kids and help them during the race. This will take the place of our practice for Sunday.
