Our Ladies Program begins Saturday, January 7th.  We still have room for additional participants.  Registration will take place in the cafeteria one half hour before your scheduled lesson time.  The following lesson times are scheduled for the  four Saturdays in January: Beginner Skiing 9:00AM, Intermediate/Advanced Skiing 11:00AM, Beginning Snowboard 5:00PM, Intermediate Snowboard 7:00PM.  We would love to see you this Saturday!

For Ladies Only! Ski & Snowboard Lesson Programs

Don’t just drop the kids off at the Clock Tower…STAY and enjoy some winter activity of your own!

Taught by busy Moms, (who just happen to be lifetime Skiers & Boarders) this program is dedicated to women who want to stay active, participate and enjoy winter.  With great female Instructors, a social environment, and a focus on FUN, this program is more of an adventure and ­less a lesson.

The first meet and greet session will be held on December 4th at 3:00PM in the Lower Lodge. It  is FREE, so come out and learn more about the program, meet the instructors and greet the other ladies who plan to participate!  Make the 4-session commitment  for $85.00 and Swiss will provide  comfortable coaching, patient professionals, equipment discounts and understanding instruction that will help you enjoy the snow more than you ever have!

Kristy Ambrosen – Skiing

Kristy Ambrosen is a AESA and PSIA certified Ski & Snowboard Instructor.  She started skiing at age 5 and began teaching at Mount Wawasee by age 12!  She is a great skier, snowboarder, outdoor enthusiast and winter lover!  She absolutely understands what it takes to make  women comfortable on the snow.  During the spring of 2009,  Kristy used her expertise to test ski equipment and apparel for Ski Press Magazine.  Her love of the sport has taken her skiing all over the world but her love of family and southwest Michigan keeps her mostly on the ski hills of Swiss Valley!  Join Kristy this season to gain confidence, skill and equipment knowledge.  She will help you figure out what makes you a better skier as you relax and make friends!

Emily Newland – Snowboard

Meet Emily !

Emily Newland has spent 29 seasons on the snow!  A southwest Michigan native, Emily grew up just down the street from Swiss Valley and secured her first employment at age 13 teaching children to ski in our “Mushroom Patch” program.  When Emily isn’t coaching her daughters soccer team, she can be found hiking, practicing martial arts, cross country skiing or just enjoying the great outdoors. A recently AESA & PSIA certified snowboard instructor, Emily has not forgotten what it is like to strap both feet into a snowboard and hope for the best.  She’ll eliminate the anxiety as she comfortably coaches you on basic boarding, linking turns and/or more advanced and intermediate progression. This is your season!  Emily will be there to assist with equipment decisions and friendship forging as you participate instead of hibernate!
